About Sinus Lift

A sinus lift, or sinus augmentation, is a procedure that adds bone to the upper jaw in the area of your molars and premolars. When upper back teeth are lost, the sinus cavity often expands into the space previously occupied by tooth roots, leaving insufficient bone for implants. During a sinus lift, we gently lift the sinus membrane and place bone graft material beneath it. Over several months, this material integrates with your natural bone, creating adequate depth for implant placement. This procedure has made implants possible for many patients who were previously told they lacked sufficient bone.
